Didier Chopin Brut Champagne 2016

There’s a revolution going on in Champagne. Small growers are now bottling their own Champagne (instead of selling it to the Grande Marques) – with a firm focus on quality.

Didier Chopin was way ahead of the pack. Since 1989, he’s built up three hectares of vines in the tiny hamlet of Le Paradis (literally, ‘paradise’), tending them meticulously with his wife and children. And the results speak for themselves.

His Blanc de Noirs Brut – a rich blend of Pinot Noir (60%) and Pinot Meunier (40%) aged five years on its lees for extra complexity – won gold medals in France's important Gilbert & Gaillard guide in 2014 and 2016 – and also placed 14th out of 400 top Champagnes at a big blind tasting in Belgium. Here's what the judges had to say:

“Fine and perfumed, the bouquet is an olfactory treat. Enveloping and generous, rich in white fruit … mature and charming … a balanced, delicious cru.”

We're very proud to launch this fine Champagne in the U.S. market at such a great price. As with most grower Champagnes, quantity is strictly limited, so you'll have to hurry for your taste.
